Magazine- Research #4
The fourth magazine I chose was Philanthropy. Philanthropy is a magazine "to foster excellence in philanthropy, to protect philanthropic freedom, to assist donors in achieving their philanthropic intent, and to help donors advance liberty, opportunity, and personal responsibility in America and abroad." Philanthropy (2017). The Magazine issue I chose was published in Winter of 2014. The cover layout has a big, blown up picture of an abandoned train station in Detroit. The font is in big, white letters to help stand out and catch the readers eye. The articles in the magazine that are featured are based off helping the community like rebuilding abandoned buildings to stop bad people and things in neighborhoods from coming in, people volunteering in medicine, and donors and families lifting foster children from orphanages. The advertisements include different foundations to help the community, and an ad that shows a community home. The pages that they are shown are in the beginning and close to the end. The photos that appear throughout the article are showing people helping other people, the projects for the remodeling of the worn down buildings, and donation organizations. They haven't won any awards, but the company itself has done many accomplishments in medicine and health, education, arts & culture, nature, animals, & parks, prosperity, religion, public-policy reform, overseas, and local projects.
